Posipot Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Posipot is made by George Brown (gbrownn95@gmail.com). This policy explains what data Posipot handles and where it goes. The short version: everything stays with you.

What we collect

Nothing. Posipot has no server, no user accounts, and no analytics or crash-reporting libraries. The Android app does not request internet permission, so it is not capable of transmitting your data anywhere. The one exception is if you choose to email us using Send feedback, which is covered below.

Permissions

If you look at Posipot's permissions in your Android settings you will see a short list. Internet access is not on it. The entries that are there come from the standard Google libraries Posipot uses to schedule background work and to show notifications: being told when your phone has restarted, keeping the phone awake for the moment a scheduled job runs, checking whether a network exists (the scheduling library asks this on its own account, Posipot never uses the answer), being able to run a task in the foreground (which Posipot never does), vibrating, and posting notifications. Without internet permission, none of them can move anything off your phone.

What stays on your device

Everything you create or change in Posipot is stored only on your device:

Backups

If you have Android backup turned on, Android includes Posipot's data in your own Google backup for your Google account, exactly as it does for other apps you allow. That backup belongs to you, not to us: it rides your Google account, and we have no access to it. Android encrypts this backup end to end only when your device has a screen lock set; without a screen lock it is still protected in transit and at rest by Google, but not end-to-end encrypted. You can exclude Posipot from backups or turn backups off entirely in your device settings. Posipot never operates its own server or storage.

What is in that cloud backup: your own affirmations, your journal entries, your draw history and your settings. Photos you add to a journal entry are not. They stay on the phone, and they come across when you set up a new phone directly from your old one, which Android handles separately from the cloud backup. We do this on purpose: Android limits how much one app may put in a cloud backup, and photos are large enough that including them could push everything else out, including your affirmations. Keeping photos out means your words are always safe. If you want a copy of a photo elsewhere, it is your own picture and it is still in whatever app you took it with.

Notifications

Daily affirmation, journal and practice reminders are scheduled and shown entirely on your device. Their content never leaves it.

When you choose to share or export

Posipot never sends anything by itself. Three features send something only when you ask them to, and only where you say:

If you do send feedback, your email address and whatever you wrote arrive in the developer's own email account. That is the only personal information about you that ever reaches us. It is used to answer you and to fix the problem, and nothing else: it is never used for marketing, and it is never shared or sold. It is deleted once your issue is resolved, and in any case within 12 months. You can ask at any time what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it, and we will reply within one month.

Photos

If you add a photo to a journal entry, Posipot uses Android's photo picker, which hands over only the picture you select. Posipot never asks for access to your photo library. The picture is copied into Posipot's own private storage on this device so your entry keeps it even if you later delete the original.

Purchases

The optional one-time unlock is processed by Google Play. We receive no payment details. During the closed beta the unlock is free and no payment system is present in the app.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Posipot, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes all Posipot data from your device, including any photos you added to journal entries. Files you exported yourself, and cards you shared with other people, are yours and are not affected. To remove Posipot data from your own Google backup, delete the app's backup via your Google account's backup management (or simply uninstall; Android expires app backups automatically). We run no server and hold nothing your app created, so there is nothing for us to delete there. The one exception is if you have emailed us using Send feedback, in which case just ask and we will delete that email.

Children

Posipot is intended for users aged 13 and over.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Because the app cannot transmit data, changes can only ever be in the direction of describing on-device behaviour.
